Bump on your behalf. I’m wondering the same.
I believe top colleges do recalculate your gpa so it only includes core subjects and weighted according to a standard scale (A = 4 A- = 3.7 B+ = 3.3 etc.). Not sure whether or not they consider freshmen year but I would think so. However, when they look at your transcript, they will primarily look at sophomore/junior year so it’s more important to have done well in those years. I’m not the admissions office so I can’t verify but those are my thoughts.
