I just opened my inbox and saw an email from Exeter from the director of admissions. My heart was racing, my palms were sweating, I thought that maybe, just maybe, some tech mistake came about and I would get my decision letter now. But it was only a reminder that said the decision will be available online and when the letters will be mailed. Darn it. I had a near heart attack, all for nothing. I'm kind of mad. Anyone else got any emails like these?

Not really lol. My mom printed out the one for Lawrenceville and gave it to me. I didn't expect it and was kind of surprised.

just received same.

D received an email from a sports coach at one of her top BS choices saying congrats on a great sports season and that the coach's fingers were crossed and hoping for a favorable decision on 3/10. I suspect that's genuine, that the coach put in a good word but ultimately it's the admission's office decision and not the coach's. It was still nice though.

That same exact event happened to me except i thought that somehow it was a delayed e-mail that said my application wasnt complete. I was still freaking out after I read it.

March 10 can't come soon enough. I have never been this nervous in my entire life. the agony has got to end!! they should make a name for this, called March 10 madness. Symptoms: inability to concentrate, only thinking about march 10, freaking out, dreams and constant thinking about boarding schools. Treatment: None.

katchakern2003, i was thinking the same thing! even though i hardly thought it possible, i thought MAYBE they sent it early. i got all nervous for nothing lol.

If the coach is on the admissions committee....s/he could be part of the decision process. And....coaches can have a lot of input, especially if your child is a top athlete.

Thanks for the supportive words. At this point, with 2 days to go, I'm sticking with the cautious approach! D is a 3 sport athlete, likely a varsity contributor in two and standout in one. So we'll see...

im thinking i suffer from March 10 madness.
im also thinking, many people on here do!

I'm definitely suffering from March 10th Madness. (Haha, March Madness).... Someone needs to find a cure for it!

haha i definitely agree with you. I dont think i'll be able to survive like this for much longer. the intense pressures getting to me!

I got a similar email and almost had a heart attack. Turned out it was just some news letter.

Good luck to all sufferers of March 10th Madness. I have now recovered and it is an amazing feeling. You can breathe and it feels much more relaxed. Just think, only two more days to go!
