Recommend Colleges?

I’m hitting a bit of a wall and need some (by that, I mean a lot) of help. I’d like a college with:

  • Biology, and French/ other foreign languages (must have)
  • Mid-Atlantic/ Northeast/ Pacific Northwest
  • Something that I could get into semi-easily/ get good financial aid with my GPA (4.0 uw, 4.4 w), course load (7 APs), top 10% of my class
  • Preferably near the mountains
  • Big city that’s (very) walkable
  • It’s okay if it’s a party school as long as it has a good education side
  • Price wise, I’d like something not too expensive, unless I could get lots of money with my grades
  • Nice architecture
I probably sound really picky, but any suggestion would be great.
    Thanks!!

Try bumping up your old post - no need to make a new one

Oh I didn’t know you could do that ^#(^ thanks!

Stupid question, but how do you bump?

posting on it again brings it to the most recent - usually the word bump is standard - don’t do it a ton, but it’s much better than starting a new thread. Alternatively you can post on the thread with a substantive comment if you have one, but either gets the job done.

Oh okay, thanks

Try using the supermatch function to the left (under find a college) for some ideas. You might also want to get your hands on some college guide books (Fiske, Princeton Review etc.) at your guidance office or local library and start reading up.

On the eastcoast the challenge will be finding mountains near a large city. You might have better luck in the pacific northwest

For the city and mountains combination in the Pacific Northwest, check out Lewis and Clark College and University of Puget Sound.

What size school?

You could check out University of Colorado Boulder. They have decent academics, are really close to the Rockies, and are in a walking community. With your stats, you would be able to get in with lots of merit scholarships. For the big city part of things, Boulder is about a 40 minute drive from Denver. They have a very good bus system that goes between the two and are looking to put a train out there as well.

By nice architecture, do you mean a good program or just nice buildings? I don’t know anything of CU’s Architecture program, but I like the way the buildings look.

@cutepug medium sized or large probably
@StringContrabass nice buildings, but an architecture program definitely wouldn’t hurt either. Thanks for the suggestion though, I’ll definitely look into it
