What are your in state options?
What state are you in and what is your budget? Do you need FA or merit scholarships?
Texas and my budget is around 40k? I don’t qualify for federal financial aid
@nw2this @Oregon2016 I live in Texas and do not qualify for any federal financial aid. I’d be willing to pay up to maybe 40k? but merit scholarships would always be good
For economics, these analyses can be useful: “US Economics Departments” and “Economics Departments at Liberal Arts Colleges,” IDEAS.
NYU and UPenn meet all of your academic criteria and location preferences. (NYU may have the best urban location in the country.) You might be recognized with a merit scholarship at NYU.
UT-Austin will be your best bet for instate tuition.
Reach with possible merit- UChicago, USC, Emory
Match - UMaryland, Northeastern, Fordham
Safety with possible merit- Temple
Lots of other choices that may cost more than 40K - BC, Georgetown, Hopkins, GW, American U, Drexel,
Don’t know if Richmond is a big enough city for you, but University of Richmond would be a good match.
@nw2this has a lot of good suggestions.
Check out BU as well - they offer some merit scholarships that could keep the cost to about 40K.
Claremont McKenna has good economics and finance programs, along with spectacular financial aid. Plus, its just outside of LA.
UT Austin is the school to beat. The OP should qualify for admission easily; its in-state COA is well within his budget; it’s one of the country’s best public universities; it’s in a lively college town. To beat UT’s sticker price he’d need more merit money than he’s very likely to get from an equally (or more) selective college. Some public universities (Wisconsin, for example) do offer OOS sticker prices of $40K or less.
NYU for a match, Fordham for a safety (do express interest by requesting info, perhaps a visit when you go to the city), Villanova, Northeastern (match), Emory, American University (safety, express interest), GWU, Georgetown, Rice, DePaul (safety, express interest), Northwestern (reach for everyone), UMN Carlson (safety), Indiana Kelley (? not in a city but top business program), St Louis University (safety), Notre Dame (reach for everyone, but reasonable for you).
Low match / safety with decent merit aid - Lewis and Clark in Portland OR. But just econ, no finance or accounting major.
Great stats, UT Austin would be a good choice to go to. Off topic, but any advice for how you got 800 on U.S. History subject test?
" Indiana Kelley (? not in a city but top business program),"
The Indianapolis Campus is within walking distance of Lucas Oil stadium, Victory Field, Pacers, etc., Circle center and a myriad of other things. Indianapolis a great and busy city.
The same program.

You would qualify for Kelley Honors, Full tuition and cut your out of pocket in to the 20K max range.
Kelley Indianapolis has a 96% placement rate out of college.
Temple won’t give “possible merit”. Temple will give automatic full-ride + $8,000.
-Boston University (Match, acceptance rate has fallen drastically. Should receive merit.)
-University of Alabama (Safety, automatic full ride.)
