Recommend some goods ECs

Right now im a sophomore in high school with pretty weak ECs:
Cross Country
Track (soon)
CSF
Key Club
Feeding the homeless about every Wednesday
Note: I only have 10th grade ECs because of a moving situation.

As you can see my ECs are very weak and i was wondering what I should do to bump them up. I like running, volunteering, and socializing. Im basically open to anything right now. I know im not being really specific because i dont like much lol. Any how what were/are your ECs and what could i do to make mine look better?

hmm.. well it depends on what you have an interest in doing.. but some general things you could try:
- create your own club (in school)
- volunteer some place and commit to it (in a hospital?)
- tutor peers in a subject you're comfortable with..

hope this helps.

EC is overrated as long as you have strong numbers

all EC I have is tutoring in high school. no sport. no lame club activities. I got a scholarship too.

and it's not like they check anyways

^^
lol.

Imo, pursue whatever you are interested in. Don't do it just for college apps, because there will be something more fun that you are missing out on.

Some examples are:
Tutoring, Science/Math Olympiads, Mock Trial, Junior State of America, Model United Nations, Interact, Student Government, Rocket Clubs, Speech/Debate/Forensics, Dance, Singing, Music, Volunteer work, Job, etc.

Don't do it if you are doing it for college.

Do wt you like. Don't do wt you have to do.

I volunteered at the La Brea Tar Pits and cleaned bones. It helped me get in, given how I mentioned that I want to be a paleontologist in my essays.

Rugby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ECs are indeed overrated. Do one for like 150 hours over two-three years that you can talk about in your essay and you're golden. If you don't but you have good stats, you're still fine.
