Recommendation Letter frustration

Anybody have a teacher drag their feet on a LOR? I am transferring and asked a teacher 3 weeks ago. She has not started yet. The applications for the Transfer Scholarship are due a week from today. She basically said it would be done next Wednesday. I will have to overnight it. Do you think this will make me look bad? Having it in on the last possible day?

I understand your frustration. The other day I asked a staff member I’ve been close with for a LOR for a summer program, and we talked about it for a while. Then the next day when he saw me he asked me “…that was you that asked for that LOR right…?” Then we proceeded to basically have the same discussion about the program as we did the day before. I was just like :open_mouth: (he is 77 years old though… So that’s kind of sad:( ) But that’s the thing about LORs, you can’t completely control the writer’s actions and colleges have to understand that. There really shouldn’t be any issue as long as you don’t turn it in late. It’s annoying for you, but shouldn’t be an issue as long as it arrives on time.
