Despite me telling him for months to not wait until the last minute, my DS waited until today to submit his EA application. During that process, he realized that he never requested the teacher recommendations through the portal. There are written, but there is very little chance that the teachers will submit them today. Will he get bounced into RD or will they take them after today?
Hmm, I know that teachers can submit recs after students submit their own app, but I’m not sure if it’s after the deadline. It says on their site that no application will be considered until they have all the required documents (including LORs) and that the student must make every effort that everything is submitted by the deadline they are applying to (so for EA, today). Is there any way that the teachers can be emailed/called to ask them to send it by midnight today?
Also, the deadline is flexible if you happen to live in one of the states mentioned below.
“The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will be flexible in regards to the Early Action application deadline for students who live in areas of the country recently impacted by natural disasters (California, Texas, etc.) or school closures/disruptions due to strikes (e.g., Illinois). We recognize that your college counselor or teachers may also encounter difficulties in submitting documents on your behalf. Please note that we will continue to accept documents beyond the November 1 deadline and this will not negatively impact your application review”.
My teacher (who’s writing one of my Georgetown LORS) said the deadline for LOR is Nov 31 for them. Don’t worry!
