Hi all, My professors have submitted LOR’s for 2 schools in US. But they uploaded only plain PDF file. It was not signed and neither had a letterhead on it. It was an electronic recommendation so it may not be an issue. Is it concerning? I am worried
I assume they put their name in the letter itself. It should be fine as long as they used the upload process defined by the schools. Don’t worry about it, it is fine.
In electronic recommendation , while providing the LOR we register the Email address, will university use this email address to contact teh professors in case of any issue?
Yes. Don’t worry. I’m sure the profs didn’t use letterhead or physically sign my kid’s letters.
Actually, I would say usually professors do use electronic letterhead when they submit. (When I review fellowship applications, the vast majority of professors use letterhead.) A good number/large chunk of professors also do sign them, either with digital ink or by signing and scanning. The signature part is not a big deal - most places aren’t expecting that - but most places ARE expecting letterhead.
I wouldn’t worry about it though, OP, because as you said if the department has any questions they will ask.
