Recommendation Letters???

When schools such Princeton ask for recommendation letters from two different areas of study, what do they mean?

I separate academic subjects into three different areas: Languages, Humanities and Math/Science. However, would colleges separate them into Language/Humanities and Math/Science? Would Psychology be considered a science? Personally, as it is my intended field of did very well in that class, I would consider it a science. It is considered a science as well when regarding AICE Diplomas, the diploma I will be receiving. However, I could also get a letter from a humanities teacher such as Global Perspectives, subject that ties into Debate/MUN. The teacher loves me and taught me for two years. Would that be okay? A humanity? I know that I will for sure be receiving a phenomenal recommendation letter from my Portuguese teacher, that teaching me since sixth grade. This would of course be a Language. I have the Language and/or Humanities covered. The Math/ Science is what worries me. If for some reason Psychology is not regarded as a science, as it should be, I have no choice. I have had in the past 3 years of high school two math teachers and two science My first math teacher, Ms. V taught me in 9th and 10th grade, also she genuinely despised me because I was horrible at math and received a C. My second math teacher, Mr, N taught me in 11th grade and will likely teach me in 12th grade. However, he was absent a lot of the time and because his class was the last period of the day it conflicted with a lot of assemblies, exans and activities. Since math is definitely not my strong suit, I also didn’t participate as much as I do in other classes and was therefore kind of invisible. Science wise, I’ve also only had two teachers. The first Mr. T taught me in ninth grade but I don’t think I made quite enough of an impact. The second Ms. S taught me 10th and 11th and although I did well in her 10th grade class, 11th was much more difficult and she began to dislike me and the rest of the class and boy was she good at playing favorites. Luckily she kind of disappeared off the face of the earth in so shes not really an option either.

I honestly do not know what to do. I hope they do consider psychology a science. Or at least separate Languages and Humanities. I’m not entirely weak in math and science; I participate in Chemistry Club and Math Honor Society but I am MUCH MUCH MUCH stronger in the other subjects.

I would really appreciate some guidance because I’m freaking out. I am terrified. I know that if I take math/science out of the question my letters would be amazing but with them, i’d lose opportunities.

The school usually consider the 4 cores (Math, Science, language, Social Science) or 5 core (plus foreign language) when they ask for recommendation letters from different areas. Psychology is considered social science though.

In my school, psych is in the history department. I don’t think many places would consider it a science, since by science I think they mean hard science or lab-based science.
