<p>I invited my teacher to write me a recommendation on the commonapp last week, but the status shows the teacher evaluation is not yet started. However, the deadline for EA is on fri. Can the teacher still submit her recommendation after the deadline and I have my application all done. Can I still submit it without recommendation sending before the deadline?</p>

<p>You can and should go ahead and submit your app before the deadline. It’s fine for the teacher evaluation to be submitted after you submit your application. Most, but not all schools, allow a little leeway after the deadline for items outside the applicant’s control including teacher evaluations. But, it’s best to have everything in by the deadline, if possible. It’s not uncommon for teachers to submit on the day of or the day after a deadline. You may want to remind your teacher (nicely) of the upcoming deadline.</p>
<p>thanks for your reply. I am applying for suny most probably bing by friday. I only know all transcripts and test scores must be sent by Dec2, it doesn’t indicate recommendation. So is it still fine?</p>
<p>That may depend on the school. I believe most schools would allow a time lag for LOR to come in after deadline. Of course, it still cannot be too late.</p>
<p>I don’t know anything about Bing in particular. Most places say that the deadline for everything, including recommendations, is a particular date, but they give a little slack about recommendations because they know that the submission of recommendations is ultimately beyond the applicant’s control.</p>
<p>Have you spoken to the teacher in question about this issue?</p>
<p>the teacher taught me last year but she is not in school anymore this year. I just contact her via email and received recommendation but on commonapp she has to send herself. So I am not sure if she is going to make on time</p>

It was kind of you to provide me a copy of the recommendation, but I believe the Common App expects recommenders to upload their own recommendations. Will that be a problem?”</p>
