Hey CC,

I'm getting a recommendation from a manager of mine at the company I'm doing an internship with for my application to harvard, penn, stanford, nyu, and gtown.

I was wondering whether it would be best to have him just submit the letter or to also submit that "faculty reference" form they give you for the normal recs, those coming from professors. He said he would be able to talk about the quality of my work, my ambition, and dedication. What do you guys think?

I'm not exactly an expert on this so I do not want to give you the wrong answer.

But I do want to say that I was kind of considering doing the same thing but now I am thinking that perhaps I should not because of the whole
'too much' problem.

vcoleman, there certainly exists a line where supplemental material becomes "too much" and unhelpful. However, this specific recommendation will reflect a different side than the other two professors are most likely going to write about. It's also something I can't seem to fit in my application essays or materials myself.

Now, if anyone has experience with this kind of thing, what do y'all think? I'm giving this to my manager tomorrow at 1.
