Recommendations On Reviewing Biology Over the Summer Before Taking AP Biology? Deciding between AP Chem and this, but I'm probably doing this. I haven't taken Bio Honors since 9th grade, so it's been awhile. What should I use over the summer to refresh my memory before taking AP Bio next year? I forgot a lot, but I know if I review it a tiny bit, it will all come back.

bump…

It’s not necessary. The AP curriculum seemed to cover everything we learned in Bio1. You’ll be surprised at how much you actually remember. I was terribad at biology and I still remembered the main concepts like meiosis and photosynthesis and stuff. It isn’t necessary to remember a lot anyway.

I’m in the same situation for next year, but I will actually need help reviewing because my bio teacher literally taught us almost nothing. she gave us a stupid, useless computer program to work with (we were in a computer lab) and a list of greek/latin bio roots to study and beyond that, very little. we literally played games online all day because we had nothing better to do and it was the easiest thing to do without getting caught

I think the only advice you need is that it is necessary for you to be able to rely on yourself. Sure, go by the teacher’s scheduling for the occasional lab or test, but always be self-reliant. You need to understand what you know and what you could work on. I would say, prepare around a month or more to entirely prepare yourself for the best possible results.

I wish you the best of luck, AP Biology is not a class for the faint of heart :]

i agree. AP bio can get daunting at times but with the realization that the curve is pretty generous, you can take some pressure off.

its all about spring break before the ap test
