Recommended Science/Math classes for HYPSM

I am in 9th grade and currently taking

Biology and Alg2/Trig (A's in both)

What math and sciences should i take/will look the best for IVYs?
I am looking to major in computer science, finance, econ (something related, possible double major)

10th grade I a planning to take AP Stat, and then not sure what science, Do i even need to take chemistry, I could just not do it and do AP Bio
Should I take precalc instead? My teachers said to get Stats out of the way, but a lot of people say to do precalc sophomore year

11th - Honors Precalc (possibly AP Calc), AP Physics (Don't know B or C) ad not sure

12th - AP Calc BC, AP Environmental

I want to take AP Computer Science sometime, when should I?

This is just so far, I want to know if I should make any changes, add, drop anything.

My school offers

Honors Precalc
AP Statistics
AP Calc AB
AP Calc BC
College Math

AP Biology
AP Chemistry
AP Physics C
AP Environmental Sci.
AP Computer Scienc

I'm going to take my ACT and SAT 2 in Bio M this year (ACT/SAT only goes up to Alg 2, why not)

bump …

bump …

Personally…stat is a bit of a joke in terms of maths, id go for harder stuff if you want to impress, same with AP environmental, its still an AP but chem/bio are harder and if you want to major in comp sci then not taking AP Comp Sci when you have the option doesn’t look the best on your app. It’s all about challenging Yourself personally and taking what interests you, but if you want to major in Comp Sci But never take the class then its not the greatest indicator…

this again is just my personal opinion

would taking ap stats and honors precalc sophmore year, skip ab and go to Calc BC junior year, and Multivariabl at local CC be a good idea for possible finance/econ major?

All of them.

Keep in mind that Physics C involves calculus (you might be able to take calculus and Physics C concurrently, but I didn’t try), and Physics B may involve precalculus.

Statistics is pretty important for economics (but it depends on what you want to do). A lot of people on Wall Street use stochastic calculus. I took a stochastic processes class this year and the entire first half was probability.

That being said, you might be able to pick up AP Statistics on your own, since the material is not terribly difficult. (It would probably be good to take the exam anyway to show your mastery of the material.) I’m not sure what’s covered in AP Computer Science, but if it’s just programming, you might be able to pick that up on your own too. I think a lot of good programmers are self-taught anyway.

Sounds fine to me.

Agree with above

cool thanks
