Good morning everyone!
Back in March, I applied to RU SAS (NB), SEBS (NB), and SAS (Newark). I was rejected from all of them within 11 days or so. I believe that there were several factors that caused this. My fall semester grades were good for the most part, with the exception of 2 courses. One of the courses was math and the other was chemistry. For math, I moved onto the next level and did well, despite not to doing too well in the pre-req. For chemistry, I am currently retaking it right now and I’m doing very well. I am also taking another class along with it right now for the first summer term at my CC. I am also moving onto the next chemistry class for the second summer term. The first summer term ends in the 29th of June. I have already written an appeal letter and all that fun stuff. I guess my question is should I send the appeal in after the 29th, after my final grades have been posted, or should I send it, with the unofficial transcript during the middle of the term? I only ask because I am immensely worried that spots will be filled up and that all of the schools will be closed. I know that as of now almost every school is open to transfers for the fall, with the exception of Mason Gross. I apologize if this was long-winded. I’m just super nervous. I just really want to go to RU in the fall because it’s the only way I’ll be considered for their 5 year BA/MD program. Thanks for reading this and potentially answering my question!
I don’t think you can apply to the BA/MD that late?
Anyway, if you submit now, what are your grades? Do you need the summer session grades or would they just be a 'nice to have '.
For the 5 year BA/MD program, I believe one apples as a rising senior during the latter half of their junior year. Apparently you gain admission and final acceptance is conditional, depending on one’s MCAT score. The program is the primary reason why I wish to attend RU this coming fall. To qualify for the program, one needs to have been attending Rutgers for at least a year during the time of application. My grades in chemistry 1 and 2 were not the best if you catch my drift; it’s safe to say the classes were needed. So far, I have an A in my Chem 1 class; I took the toughest professor and the final is on Thursday. I also needed bio 2, as it didn’t work with my schedule last semester. If all goes well with finals, both courses should be A’s and my GPA would be in the 3.6-3.66 range. My final grades should be out this week. I’m just worried because more Rutgers schools are closing for transfers as the days go on. The nursing school closed last week and the business school just closed today. I am worried that SEBS and SAS are next.
