It sounds like UCONN needs more staff, or a better way to handle applications, students and guidance councelors and parents all have immense pressure to get all their forms in on time… Yes deadlines are important, reguardless of inclement weather, like really this is New England your use to it already…Record number of applications means UCONN needs to step it up! Son applied to 10 schools, UCONN, being the worst in responding in a any kind of timely manner, with excuse after excuse…Northeastern in Boston had over 43,000 applicants, almost double that of UCONN and their procedures, were at the least more respectable and proffessional. And when you call for information, WOW, even the people that answer and direct calls are just plain rude. What does this say about your University??? Thumbs down! Give these kids a break UCONN, get your act together!

The inefficiency at UCONN is totally unacceptable seeing that if we were this untimely in submitting applications, we would be told “so sorry”. Meanwhile, May 1st is drawing near , and how can one make a decision when they are being so slow. For some, financial aid is a concern, and will be what the ultimate decison is based on. Lets go UCONN.
On another note, we have a cousin whose daughter’s early action application was completed in October, and still does not have an admission decision, let alone financial aid.

Same here. EA app, then deferred, then waitlisted until mid to late May. They have touched this child’s application at least three times already, with no final decision. It’s a shame because this is/was her first choice and she might actually graduate (May 24th) before we know if she got in.

I was accepted month ago, had my financial aid in before February 1st and am anxiously awaiting their decision. I need to know so I can make my final choice! Finances is extremely important in my decision.

Hopefully soon! And sorry for those who didn’t even hear back yet, they need to seriously step it up.

Financial aid is up, and we were very pleasantly surprised. I have always been led to believe that UCONN financial aid was minimal, and contrary, so far it is the best we have gotten from any school.
