Recruiter isn't replying to follow-up email?

Hi everyone, I had an in-person interview with an employer approximately 4 weeks ago. Since that time, I have not hear anything from them. So last Friday, I emailed the company’s recruiter asking if there’s any updates on the job status. I received an automatic reply saying that he’s out of the office last week from Wednesday to Friday.

So I was hoping to receive a reply from him today and I have been hanging.

The job status on their website is still open btw.

What do you think happened? I feel extremely tempted to call but I’m not sure. Please help and thank you.

After four weeks, it’s reasonable to call and inquire about the status of your application; I would assume that you have not been selected to continue in the hiring process.

Also, I truly hope that you have continued to apply to other jobs while you have been waiting… if you haven’t been doing that, start now!
