Can I recycle my common app essay prompt #4 (Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma-anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution) so that I can use it for my UC prompt #2 (Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are)?
Also, which common app prompt would best fit with the first UC prompt (Describe the world you come from — for example, your family, community or school — and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations)?
are you already sending the common app with that essay to UC? if not, you can recycle it, as long as it fits the prompt, but if you are sending that essay through the common app, don’t use it twice. use the UC prompt #2 to talk about another important community in your life.
I am recycling my common app prompt four for UC prompt one. As long as you think what your wrote about fits both prompts, it should be fine.
@paraguas Hey, sorry, I’m not quite understanding what you’re saying. I already sent in my common app essay (prompt #4). I’m asking if I can recycle my common app essay to use for my UC essay prompt #2? I haven’t wrote any of the UC essays yet and I’m hoping that I can just write one and recycle the other.
PS: This is my other account; I’m the same person haha.
never mind. UC doesn’t use the common app, so recycling that essay would be fine! haha it doesn’t matter that you used it for something else already.
Where do you think UC prompt 1 fits in best? I finished my UC’s and I like my first one better. I was hoping which common app prompt I could modify it into?
