I’m from New York and going to BU and I actually heard that Red Sox fans are a minority at Boston University since so many people from NY and NJ attend. Is that true? I know the campus is pretty close to Fenway.

And while we’re on sports, is hockey really that big of a deal there? I’ve never been interested in the sport, but when I went to visit I heard that the school is very proud of their team. How are the games? That, and how is the sports scene as a whole? Fun?

I would by no means say being a Red Sox fan is a minority at BU. Just living this close to Fenway makes the Red Sox world a tad inescapable.

I think people probably just mean that there is definitely a fair share of Yankees fans here too since there are a lot of NY & NJ kids. Personally, I am from Massachusetts and a hardcore Sox girl myself. I definitely feel like many people are also Sox fans, but it’s also a fair share of other teams’ fans and those apathetic to baseball. Of the other teams’ fans, I would say the Yankees are favored the most.

You think that’s bad? I have three assignments due this week. But anyway, I didn’t even know what “red sox” was before I came to BU and say all those people in Kenmore. I come from Texas, we’re a football state. From what I gather, a lot of students are out of state so the Red Sox thing is only an issue because we’re near Fenway.
