I found this online. :sigh:

I wonder why Reed has this up on their website with open access. Did you find it through Google? It’s the awesomest acceptance notification ever though, in my experience. :)

I think I stumbled upon it on Reed’s own site, actually; it may have been in their seasonal online magazine. Reed definitely has the best acceptances letters --haikus, confetti, what more could you want to celebrate?

On the other hand all this attachment is probably bad before I’ve even been admitted.

Needless to say I accidently watched it even though I haven’t even applied yet…if this starts some wyrd chain or gives me bad karma…I will hunt you down…Lol Just kidding XD

dude…I’ve play violin at Reed all the time and it’s like 20 minutes away. I already applied to all my colleges, but I didn’t even know Reed is like a super duper good school. I thought it was just like a… community college… is that really bad? )):

It’s typical, hairypotter. When I attended Reed “The Oregonian” did an opinion survey in downtown Portland and none of the respondents had ever heard of Reed. We were far better known nationally than in our own city. In some ways that was good. We liked our city anyway, and we would go downtown for eats and arts.

(Well, more accurately, a majority of the respondents didn’t know where Reed College was located.)

hahah but it definitely scared me though. i thought Reed was a really bad school, but then talking to one of their reps at a college fair during my freshmen year, they said their average hs acceptance gpa is a 4.0, and so I thought, if I want to go to a bad school I have to get at least a 4.0! ): I’m screwed
so happy to find out now that Reed is a really good school. =__________=

What made you think it was such a bad school though? It’s certainly not community college-like physically, if you’ve been there often. It’s got a gorgeous, green campus. So what made you feel it was sub-par?

The community college in my neighborhood has facilities just as nice as Reed, open fields, sports facilities, and a lot of park land, and much resembled a large college, so I always had that impression that because Reed is very similar, perhaps they were related. And a lot of my friends take classes at Reed (they’re high students) so I thought maybe it was easy to take classes there. Turns out I’m wrong - my friends are just very smart.

To be honest, I’m extremely ashamed that I didn’t recognize the brilliance of it the minute I stepped on campus. now that I recall I always had really liked the campus, the structure and layout of the buildings, the environment, and the cool “antique” look. I remember thinking “pity this isn’t such a good school” ): goodness, I feel really foolish
