@coolbeans2021 I absolutely need financial aid, though I didn’t get any indication of a financial aid package in the acceptance letter
@craZZprocess Can I ask why your daughter wants to transfer out of Scripps? That was one of the schools I applied to, and I’m very excited about it. What are some of the factors that make her want to leave?
@evanpiercegriggs Reed meets 100% of demonstrated need so I guess if you are admitted you will have the FA.
Also does anyone know when do admitted students get their course evaluations? I absolutely don’t want to take HUM because I have taken several literature/social thoughts classes.

How should I feel if I have not gotten my decision yet?
@LeavingBoy according to the email posted above, a lack of response isn’t any indication of rejection
@groundedppl Scripps is a great school! The Claremont colleges as a whole are an idyllic situation. Last year she had a hard time choosing between Scripps and Reed. She didn’t go to Reed because they didn’t have a computer science program on campus, but now they do. She also has personal reasons which make being in Portland desirable. That is really what tipped the scales.
Did anyone receive physical mail/ a package yet?
Still anxiously awaiting a decision!! I haven’t heard anything ;-;
Same. It’s been a long 9 days of constantly checking the mail. It doesn’t help that I live in a ghetto area and have anxiety about packages getting stolen. We have 2 weeks to respond… so is that from May 1st or???
Brutal. I think it’s very inconsiderate of them to be this far past their published decision date of May 1, and not at least send out an email to everyone to update them on when to expect a decision.
I feel like Reed is the kind of place, with the kind of integrity, to make sure they get it right in choosing the best applicants, and if they need some extra time then it’s totally understandable. But yeah, a heads up would be nice. Though this thread has certainly eased some of my concerns. I’ll just keep telling myself “tomorrow!”.
@Happyface1998 - we received the package last Friday. It was mailed out a day after they sent her the email.
I’ve been lurking this thread for a week or so, and felt I should be somewhat karmically obliged to let people know they’re still working their way through. It’s a bit strange they took so long.
Waitlisted today at around 2:30 or so EST. Good luck to all those still waiting.
Same here, accepted the waitlist position and hoping to hear back! Anyone know what the timeline is for possible admission for the waitlist? I’m moving down to Portland this summer and probably just going to the community college if I don’t end up at Reed, so it won’t ruin my plans either way. Hope everyone else is as fortunate!
Waitlisted. I chose to remain on the waitlist as well. Good luck to you all!
Are you planning on sending supplemental materials in?
@mmechacat yes, most likely.
waitlisted, staying on
