Reed EA 2022

I just got an acceptance email!! I attend a private school in Hawaii and I posted some stats a bit earlier. Some of my ECs are: varsity bowling, math and Chinese tutor, seasonal office assistant, president of the Chinese club.

I haven’t gotten any kind of email yet, so I have a feeling they may be mailing the rejections since no one has posted about those yet… we’ll see! I’ll keep y’all posted

Edit: I’ve seen a few posts on other threads that imply Reed may have done things alphabetically in the past – people who got acceptance emails, are your last names in the beginning of the alphabet? Because I’m at the very end.

I’m an ‘S’, the only other person I know irl who’s gotten in is an ‘N’

HI!!! I just got accepted into Reed!! I got an email saying my big envelope was coming. @slimegrl My last name starts will L, so that might confirm your theory.

Oh, interesting! Who knows.
Even if they are just snail-mailing rejections, I kind of wish they’d just send those decisions by email as well… people shouldn’t have to wait even longer to hear that they’ve gotten rejected!

I’m curious as to if you all got your emails at the same time (around 10:30 pm EST, I’m guessing as per the first post)?

Any international EA heard yet?

I got mine at 7:30ish Oregon time, I think that’s 10:30 EST?

I got my email around 7:20pm in CA informing me that I had been wait listed, which is actually good news as I was nervous about having to make a choice between certain schools. Though I do wonder where I went wrong.

Stats: (but don’t compare yourself to stats! anything is possible)

GPA UW: 3.7 W: 4.2 (special circumstances for grade drop junior year) top 10% of class, 9 AP courses, 2 ROP courses, hospital/medical background and involvement, Girl Up president for 3 years, KIWINS 2 board member years, on school board, 3 years of cross country/track, ACT: 29, my interview went poorly and my essays had some grammatical flaws (tip:don’t cram them the night before)

International asian here. Rejected with 4.0, 36, 800,780. Maybe because I needed 95% aid.

I got into Reed! I think the interview with the admissions counselor really helped.

Upon re-reading my essays, they were not as faulty as I thought. Like @Zxcvbnm111, I think my waitlist was due to the fact that I could not attend Reed without financial aid, as well as other outside components.

Waitlisted. I’m guessing it’s because we would have needed a lot of financial aid for DS to go there.

I GOT ACCEPTED! By email. I got home from my school valentines day dance and I saw this. The perfect night.

4.0 Unweighted GPA, Valedictorian (of a class of 30 lol), 31 ACT, only 3 AP classes, tons of extracurriculars, also I’m from New Mexico, I’m black and latina, and I think my flamenco dancing was a huge hook for me. I even sent in a video of me doing it. I also got in to and went to the Reed multicultural fly-in program and I talked to my admissions counselor a lot and my interview went well.

Accepted with a 3.7 GPA, 29 ACT. I’m really glad Reed values more than just numbers because my numbers certainly didn’t get me in.
I think interview and the Paideia essay really helped.

@slimegrl My last name starts with a W and I got my email at 5:30 pm local time (10:30 pm ET).

@slimegrl I haven’t got an email either. I’m in Colorado and my last name starts with a P. Because Zxcvbnm111 got rejected, I don’t think they’re just saving rejections for later or snail mailing them. Although they are international, so who knows? I think there has been some mistake and they just failed to send some emails. I emailed my admission officer last night asking about this situation, so hopefully she responds today instead of waiting for the work week to start again.

Best of luck to you getting in.

@Egghead1137 Oh interesting! Let us know if you get a response. Good luck to you, too!

My last name is ‘Y’ and I received a rejection email last night. Honestly I am okay being rejected because it would be impossible to decide which college to go to if Reed waitlisted or accepted me.

Congrats to everyone accepted and good luck to everyone on the waitlist! Hope you all are able to go where you will feel best!

Accepted, 35 ACT, 4.31 GPA, about 12 APs, 40 in a class of 550

Accepted…from New York!! Excited, but still need to visit, and really hope I get some financial aid!!
