I'm an incoming freshman - any thoughts?

See this thread for some insights into Creswell:

Yes, look at the other thread for Creswell stuff.

As for Reed, it’s a nice dorm, but it’s also right next to Sanford stadium, so I’m sure it’s loud as heck on Saturdays during the fall when there’s a game. It may be more convenient for classes than Creswell depending on where your classes are - it’s very close to the SLC, Tate, and North Campus (classes for basically everything except science). However, it’s not close to any of the dining halls. It’s an uphill walk to Snelling, Bolton, and Ohouse (maybe about 10 minutes?), and it’s a REALLY long, uphill walk to ECV (you will probably more than likely take a bus there, and the bus stop at tate near Reed is RIDICULOUS during peak hours). That could get pretty inconvenient, and you might get too lazy and decide to just buy food at Tate instead of go to a dining hall.

I have a friend who lives in Reed and she likes it, but she’s also not on the food plan.

If you need a place to stay during the holidays, I would go with Reed because I think that’s one of the only dorms that are open during holidays. Creswell closes.
