High school has definitely been a ride.
I’d like to hear what everyone thought of high school (whether you just graduated, are about to, or went through it all a few years ago!) and how you’ve changed because of it, and any advice you’d give to incoming freshmen.
(there might be something like this already-- I remember it from last year, but I can’t find it…)
I guess I’ll start.
It’s kind of strange because even though I had really strong opinions on high school half way through it, now I’m kind of eager to move on, and the nostalgia is starting to kick in. I like it a lot more than I thought (or maybe just the haze of second semester senior year ) Anyway, I feel like my “people skills” have improved most. I was really shy and insecure coming in, but now I’m a lot more comfortable in my own skin.
If I had to give advice to incoming frosh, I’d say to just give everything a go. I think a lot of my classmates were very cautious about the classes they took and the extracurriculars they did because they were too focused on college. College is important, but when it comes time to write the essays and face the interview, living a full life and trying new things will come in really handy. Don’t stress yourself out. Try hard academically, but go out and do something you like (or something you want to try).
I hope this becomes a cool thread! :-B
