Reg. Decision 1 Notifications

Reg Decision 1 notifications are scheduled to come out soon - Feb. 1. Anyone have any idea how they are transmitted - snail mail? e-mail? access to school's website? Any info from last year as to when this actually happens? For example, if they are mailed, do they mail them Feb 1 to arrive later? If via e-mail is it during the day on Feb. 1, the night before at midnight, ????

Oh this is exciting-
For some reason I had that it wasn't until February 15th! D will be very excited to KNOW --- finally, one way or another. But she will also have to see about department acceptance too as she wants to be a studio art major.

I still have d's email acceptance, which is dated Feb 9, but I don't remember if she received snail mail sooner than that.

Just doublechecked. Miami webside confirms decision date is Feb. 1; but I can't find anything about how they let you know.

My daughter e mailed the school and their reply said that letters will be mailed around the 1st.

A friend's son applied early decision and was told he would receive his decision on December 15.

The notice arrived in the mail on December 15.

You can check application status online, but I'm not sure if the admission decision will also be announced at that site.

I do know that Ohio State and University of Cincinnati decisions were first available online and then followed by a letter.

The following notice now appears on Miami's application status webpage:

"Admission decision letters will be mailed on Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Decisions will also be posted online at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Monday, February 4, 2008."

No one in Ohio has gotten their decision yet? I'm in Houston, TX, so I know I won't find out until Monday, online.

Still waiting here in Cleveland.

It was mailed on Wednesday, so we expect to receive it Friday or Saturday.

I got my acceptance letter today! (I'm in Ohio.)

Got in today from Maryland!

Got acceptance package here in Toledo! Anyone else have Derek as their admissions counselor? He's a hoot!

Got mine in maryland also.

just got the mail....still nothing in Houston....got one more day to check....then there's just Monday :(

My D is in from MD. Large white envelope with lots of enclosures, picture of school on front, and a big CONGRATULATIONS message printed on the envelope. If you get one of these you will know you are in before you open it. She is delighted. The materials in the envelope are VERY well organized and very clear. These people know what they are doing.

I can't believe all the Maryland people that have applied at Miami. How did you all find out about the school?

That was the first college mail I've gotten that was too large for my box! It was exciting.

We're in Cleveland, Ohio and my daughter received her acceptance letter today.

It was a very personalized letter mentioning her high school and specific major.

No doubt Miami does this thing right.

Toledo: we are in Maryland in the Wash DC suburbs. Miami is VERY popular here and often talked about and applied to -- many applicants from my d's. school and from the different school my son graduated from a couple of years ago. Virtually everyone we know who has gone there from here sends back great reports about how much they enjoy life there. We visited twice, and it just confirmed what they were saying. A beautiful school, feels smaller than the large enrollment would suggest, full of "boy (or girl) next door" looking kids with smiles on their faces.

Congratulations, everyone. I'm glad Miami's reputation has spread to Maryland.
