<p>is it wise to add in non academic recommendations to your college application? for example letters from the military or employers. my ex-employer is an alumni from a school i want to apply to, so i feel it would be beneficial to add in a letter of rec from him. however certain schools specifically ask applicants not to send in material they did not ask for. moreoever, these personal recommendations might not appear as credible as teacher recs. i mean anyone can just forge a rec for himself.</p>
