I logged in and accessed my acceptance page, but how do I know whether I got the Regents Scholarship or not? I interviewed a couple of weeks ago.

if you have to ask…

Is that not a good sign? :(

it should be in the myMessages tab

“Congratulations! You have been awarded the UC Berkeley Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarship. Details are being sent via email and the U.S. mail.”

I didn’t get that message… ugh. Did anyone else?

Yes. Sorry

I just got an email saying I “wasn’t selected.” It was written kind of coldly… Dang. This is a huge bummer I was really excited about it when I interviewed but now I’m feeling kind of down on Berkeley…

Yup. Me too.

I thought my interview went really well too…

Same thing happened here…my interview seemed to go really well, but I didn’t get the scholarship in the end ;( I wonder what other factors they consider…
My attraction to Berkeley has significantly decreased now that I know I won’t be getting priority registration or anything >_<

I’ve once talked to one of the many professors who do the interview, and according to what he says, they’re basically looking to see if you’re a driven student with a very specific goal rather than someone who happens to just do well in classes.

So, if you took lots of APs just because they were APs and did well in all classes just because you could, that’ll get you admitted but not regents. However, if you did all of the above for some very specific end goal, such as hoping to eventually find a cure for cancer (I know, cliche) or invent a time machine, that’s the difference that will get you the award.

That’s why an interview is necessary. Otherwise, it would have all been part of the app.

^good insight, exB.
