I recently received a notice that I have been considered to become a potential Regents & Chancellor's Scholar. I have an interview for this scholarship pretty soon. Did anyone else get the consideration. plan to do the interview and have some tips about it?

Of course i intend to burst no bubbles. I love Cal, but a regents scholarship does not mean admission. I had a very close friend who had a highly successful interview and did not get in. Best of Luck!

is this true? I received the Regent's scholarship interview invitation and all the faculty members shook my hand and congratulated me for getting into Berkeley. And I already told everybody at my school that I got into Cal. :(

I didn't get the regents letter, but I was really disappointed because I've had so many leadership roles including ASB President, my SAT scores were good, my GPA is a 4.3, and I've taken 5 college classes at a community college and a CSU and my friend got it whose GPA is a 4.1, she just started doing extracurricular, she has 0 college classes and her SAT score is around a 1280...I want to know what is up with that?! They told her congratulations for being admitted into Cal. How do they choose the students?

I heard the essay weights a lot in the process. But I'm not sure though. I wonder if it is possible to appeal (in UCSD, if you didn't get in, but think you highly deserve a slot, then you can ask them to reconsider an application review. I don't know if it works the same for Berkeley or scholarship choosing)

She just rubbed it in my face and I wasn't the happiest person after she did that. I don't really want to appeal even though my cousin who attends Cal said she would help me, but everyone says that my chances are high because of that girl with a 1280 got in. I don't want to jynx it though. I got into UCSD, just waiting for Cal, UCLA and Stanford(my mom wanted me to apply to a private close by), but Cal is definitely my #1 choice!

No, the girl that got the scholarship opportunity rubbed it in my face, not you. Sorry if you thought I was talking about you. Yeah, that's what everyone is telling me, but I really hope I get in. I'm a semifinalist for a fullride scholarship to any school of my liking, so I hope I get that!

whoa!! through what? that's AMAZING!!!
yeah, again i apologyze to take your comment to the personal level :o When i read your post I actually thought ''how does he know i'm female?'' :D
Well, wish you the best for the scholadship!!! Hope you get it and rub it in her face! no offense ;)

same here!GAAAAAAH!I'm going to go insane with this long wait. I'm waiting for the rest of the top 3 UCs. So far, I've been accepted to UCSD, but I really want to go to Cal because my cousin and I are very much alike and he loves it there! I also applied to a private that I will be hearing about very soon. :D I don't like the wait though I tell you! It seems like these days are going by super slow!

hahahah tell meh that  these days are just craaaaazyly slowwwww
Congratz on your acceptance to UCSD!!
