So how exactly does Regents priority registration work in Berkeley.

Is it a guaranteed earlier registration date?

I've read conflicting information on this, but say if go into freshman year with 15+ ap tests and a few credits from city colleges and another UC, if there is no priority registration, would I be able to register earlier than others?

Regents don’t get any priority in registration. That is, you don’t get any earlier Telebears appointment, which is disappointing. You only seem to get the cash, the e-mails + resources, and housing priority (not exactly sure on the last, but I always got my first pick).

My interviewer said that there were 2 new additional features to the regents scholarship this year: scholars receive priority registration (like athletes) AND apparently get $2500 instead of $1000 like previous years (though it said $1000 on the letter/packet) if you don’t have financial need.

Jw, did you receive a phone call about the regents?

New this year is the priority registration (before everyone except athletes). The RS we talked to said that he does not have priority registration but if it works out well next year, they have promised to give it to all of the other regent scholars.

It looks like they’re only giving it to the freshman for this year, and if it works out well then they’ll give it to the upperclassmen starting the following fall.

^ sweet. i got the regents scholarship yesterday as well! if I do choose to go to Cal (which I most likely will), then I hope to you see you at the RCSA meetings! )

I didn’t send in my SIR yet. I didn’t register for any of the ROHP evenings; I’ve seen Cal many times and have visited family and friends who have stayed in the dorms.

Did you send in your SIR? Omg it’s going to be so exciting when we all meet in the fall! :)

Ohh, I see I’m not completely sure yet, but I know of some other people who interviewed for Regents (not from my school) who are already 100% they’re going!

I had an overnight the night after my interview, and it was awesome!
I know in our school we had a dozen or so regents interviewees, and I think most of them got it, haha its going to be a party in Cal.

Still weighing out all my options as of right now. (most likely bay area, just east bay or south bay)

^ WOW a dozen?! I only know of one other Regents interviewee from my school and it’s a really competitive public school (one other person got an invitation to the overnight stay, but not Regents).

Ok, maybe not a dozen, 9 interviewed and 6 that got it (that I know of… which is still really impressive in a class of 500 ppl, last year there was more than a dozen interviewed), though I do know a few others not from my school that got interviewed and received the scholarship.

Congratz again to all regents. Enjoy the registration and amazing financial aid :D

ok so now that it’s seriously time to get serious, i was wondering what happens if we attend CalSo on one of the last days it is offered. does that mean we’ll be considered last when peoples’ schedules are being decided? i did receive regents so does priority registration mean it doesn’t matter which day i attend CalSo?

^^ I’m curious about this too. It seems that classes are filling up (though the returning students already chose their classes) though that may be other regent scholars who went to Calso early.

I really doubt they’ve already implemented priority registration for regents. I haven’t really seen a difference so far in terms of registration, since all freshman can only register on or after CalSO.
