Register class!! Ugba 101a / econ 100b

I am a new transfer student, not Econ / Haas major, but need to take Econ classes to fulfill my major.
As my understanding, we can register 10 units on CalSo, and I am going to attend the first day of CalSo. Do you think I can get into either one of the classes?
Also, usually how many people on the waiting list can go into the class?

Ugba 101A has 10 people on the waiting list, 90 available seats (for haas?)
Econ 100B has only 60 seats available. (As I know that, Econ classes are reserved for Econ major students. Do you think I am still possible to register though OPEN SEATING?)

THANKS!!!!!

Contrary to your post, UGBA 101A is reserved for Haas students while Econ 100B is opened to any major (I believe). For UGBA, you will be placed on a waitlist and then added later in the semester (I heard most people ultimately get in). For Econ 100B, you’ll most likely get in as well. Might not be the best time, but you’ll get in.

I wouldn’t be too worry!

Aiii i just read the restrictions, and i think i will be in the category of “Students with a registration status of new or readmitted” and its already FULL.
so if i am the 10-20th of the waitlist, does my chance of getting in the class big ?

10th-20th in section, quite low. But in a lecture, yes. Ignore your lecture waitlist position and remember your section position. That what matters. You can be the 39th on the lecture waitlist, but if you’re the 1st on the section waitlist, you’ll easily get into the class.

You’ll be fine with getting into classes. Just you might have to take early timeslots (8-9/ 9-10)

are new seats going to open up for classes like 100a and 100b? My appointment time is the last day of CalSO and there are only like 10 seats left for lecture. What should I do? Any advice is appreciated.

I doubt they’ll open new sections for Econ 100a/100b. Only ones I know that actually open more sections are math/chem classes. I am sure you’ll get in. People usually drop their class during the first few weeks of school. You just need to waitlist for a section with the lowest amount of waitlistees and you’ll be fine.

Ex.
A section from 2-3 might have 10 people waitlisted vs a section from 8-9 might only have 1 person waitlisted. If you really want the class, go for the 8-9!

If I can’t get into Econ 100a or 100b, does that mean I can’t declare as an econ major?

I wonder does Stat 2 equivalent to Stat 21? Cause I might want to take UGBA101A…

I don’t think so. Econ and Haas both require Stats 20,21 for their prereq. I don’t think Stat 2 would qualify for that.

Did anyone got into UGBA101A without taking Stat21?
Would the prof/ GSI really check the roster to see if you have the pre-req ??
