Registration, no available seat.. what can I do?

Hello everyone,
a couple of minutes ago I tried to register for my SAT 1, but unfortunately collegeboard told me that seats were not available. what can I do? there are only one testing center in my country... so what are other options? Can I tell any of my friend to cancel his registration if he does not need, because already has good score, and instead of him register for the sat?

Your only option is to attempt to go standby if your test center has standby, see [SAT Reasoning Test - Standby Testing](http://professionals.collegeboard.com/testing/sat-reasoning/test-day/standby)

You do not have the option to have a friend cancel and you take his place. If friend cancels, his seat will just go back into the general pool and likely go to a standby if site has standby.

But what about the condition if I go to the center very very early, while my friend does not come to the test center…
By the way, how many colleges take into consideration the scores of january SAT?

Will your friend really give up his/her seat for you? I don’t know you’d better ask your friend first. I agree with the first answer. It seems like you only have an option left.
I was gonna tell you to go taking at some high school that has a seat available because one of my friends actually went taking a test in a high school 2 hrs from his home because he also had a band competition on that day somewhere close to where he took the test. However, your case is totally different since there’s only one test center. You really have to check what colleges take Jan SAT because they vary.

You can learn which colleges accept Jan SAT scores only by checking colleges themselves since, as far as I am aware, there is no generally available list of such colleges. It is the minority of colleges but it is a very large minority. It includes most of your very high ranked private colleges, such as the ivies, but excludes Stanford and Caltech which require testing to be done by the Dec tests. It most often does not include public universities, e.g., all the UCs require testing to be completed by December.
