Would getting suspended for 3 days for going out when I wasn’t suppose to affect my chances in getting in colleges like Columbia? I have good grades and I’m a freshman. I’m joining clubs and I really regret not following the rules but what I really wanna know is if it will affect my chances. I’m stressing n I really need a response please
NOT AT ALL. As long as you learned fully the lesson, and behave accordingly, the suspension could work later as an blessing for your personal growth. Human learn ang grow through trials & errors.
Don’t worry about it. Focus on your grades and engage in EC’s that are meaningful to you. You have your entire high school career ahead of you…enjoy it!
You’re only a freshman. Relax! Just move forward, don’t repeat your mistakes, and continue to demonstrate maturity.
It could, but what can you do now? You are where you are, you can only look forward and do your best from now on.
If you learned from it, it’s an essay topic. And if you learn to write well and can speak about it with self-deprecating humor, it can be a good essay topic.
Thank you so much guys it’s a relief to hear this thank you
No it won’t, BUT…
Why did you go out?
Did you skip classes?
Did someone talk you into this?
If you succumb to peer pressure or don’t think classes are important, then you are not on track to Columbia.
If you learn your lesson then this won’t be an issue.
No, especially if it happened freshman year. Just own up to it fully in your explanation on the application – no excuses, and they likely won’t care.
It’s unlikely to, but it might. The important thing is to own up to it and to learn from that mistake.
