Suspension

I have gotten 3 days of out school suspension for racial harassment and 3 days of in school suspension for also racial harassment and intimidation.I have regreted these mistake I have done and many sleepless nights about this. What are the odds of me getting accepted to a college

You’re concerned about getting into college, I’m more concerned with your acts of racism. You were suspended twice for the same reason; this does not sound like someone who regrets their actions. Do you only feel regret because you fear that this will impact your college prospects? Here’s some advice: just be a nice person to be nice, not for college purposes. Maybe stop being racist, see how that goes? Try to change for the better, and NOT only because you want to get into college.

A total of 6 days of suspension on two separate incidents is a real problem. It indicates a pattern. And two suspensions look bad to every adcom.

Your ability to get admitted must also include a conversation about your grades.

But your ability to function as a human being with other human beings may depend on you choice to evaluate your attitudes and actions.

I’m thinking community college might be your only option. Have you achieved anything positive with racist actions? What’s making you unhappy in your life that causes you to lash out at others of a different race? Find answers to those questions, and just focus on getting out of high school with your dignity intact.

Two separate incidents of the same violation is going to be tough to overcome. Especially since it is an antisocial behavior. Schools want students who will build community, not cause division. Perhaps a sincere essay on the topic would help- but do not attempt to write one unless you are being honest (I have a relative who was sent for a diversity training event and as she remained prejudiced her wring only made things worse for her).

To be honest, no-one can answer that. Is that what it says on your record? When you are an athlete, you are representing your school, so I would change what you are doing and maybe even do some community service in a diverse community to show that you have changed. I would meet with guidance and see what you can do about these and stay out of trouble. Actions will speak louder than words, so do some good things that gain positive recognition.

Six days of suspension will never be helpful and, even with a sterling profile, may keep you from admission. Suspensions are given for all sorts of reasons. I asked two students why they were were attending ISS. The two had returned from a statewide music competition and had not entered the building for the bell. I was the proctor. Oh. The odds of either not getting admitted to a great school with money seems very remote to me.

In contrast, any suspension for racial harassment is huge and s second for the same offense could very well be disqualifying. The school looked foolish for suspending the theatre students. Two suspensions for racial harassment leads me to wonder how many times you got off with a warning and how many other incidents were not caught. There are a handful of schools that won’t be upset by your behavior or attitude. Your time and energy need to be focused on ending racial harassment and then attending to your racism.

Not condoning any type of harassment here, just stating facts. When you do apply you do have a chance to explain yourself and how you have worked to try to better yourself from learning from these mistakes.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
OP started numerous other threads on the same topic, but claimed not to have been suspended. Since misrepresentation is not allowed per ToS, there is no reason to keep this thread open. Closing.
