Regular Admission Applicant - Advice?

I just applied to DePaul University yesterday.

I have come to the conclusion that DePaul is my #1 choice, and I really don’t have a backup school that I will be 100% happy with. I have been admitted to Columbia Chicago, but I really want to go to DePaul and will pretty much do anything to get in as a freshman starting in fall 2015.

My stats aren’t amazing, but I have shown a lot of improvement during the end of my junior and start of senior year. My GPA at the end of junior year was A 2.6 and sat is 1640 overall. My senior grades for the first semester all range in the mid-80s.

Any tips of something I can do to increase my chances at getting admitted? I am from New England so it’s not easy for me to visit Chicago, but I did visit in April 2014.

By the way I applied for Communication and Media if that makes a difference.

The topic shouldn’t say advice

Considering that you’ve already sent in your application materials, there isn’t much you can do. Visiting/interviewing (i don’t know if they have interviews at DePaul) can help your chances of getting in, so it’s good that you’ve done that. I know you have visited but I doubt that you have interviewed. Maybe you could see if a Skype interview could be arranged? I’ve heard of a few schools that have that.

@gminor Thanks… I reached out to admissions telling them it was my first choice school. Hoping for the best!
