I take a couple fo regular classes like, English & Pre-calc and I always seem to have more fun in them vs. than i would in an Honors/AP class. The people in there aren't as super uptight. Even though they can get a bit loud and disruptive in class...i always manage to get a good laugh in them lol...

It’s a diversity thing. Smart people among smart people is boring after a while. It’s a social cleavage within the school. But I do have to agree, it’s pretty funny.

Totally! Usually the students in the AP classes are always on task, never tell jokes, follow the teacher’s every word etc. I only have one regular class and it is by far my favorite class since we have the leisure of getting a day behind or watching movies, while AP teachers are so stressed out right now since we only have a couple of weeks left

Pre-Calc in your school don’t contain uptight kids? Srsly? Wow, we live in opposite worlds, you and I.
I disagree with your opinion. I find students in regular classes to be so stupid, their borderline dangerous. I mean, they might be fun to hang around with, but at what cost? Is it simply the joy in partaking “normal activities” in which you satisfy your self need to fit it, or are you simply truly having fun?
I for one love all my A.P classes, the kids are more engaging and debating with someone as knowledgeable as you is more a gift than curse. MHO.

^ LOL back at you. First of all I’m a girl, and second of all A.P were never boring. What kind of class allows you to blow stuff up, Party with dead pig fetus, poke fun of your A.P Lit teacher because its Shakespeare Day ( in which he did dress up with fish net stockings and a tunic), watch band of brothers for A.P Euro, had a fiesta in A.P Spanish ( and go to Spain!), pretend you were a Jedii warrior in Calc, and played the Mating Game in A.P Bio? None other than A.P Classes. Not to mention the debates you get to take, and the intense rush and focus when disproving others.
So please sir, if you would like to deem us students willing to take the extra step to breakout school boundaries, than that’s your opinion. But to denote us as incapable of partying, by god, open up your eyes with a pair of tweezers and live a god dam life. Not everyone follow your “stereotypical” world of High School, and not every smart people are dweebs that wear glasses with acne problems. Last time I check the Captain of Cheerleaders in my school takes 6 A.P’s herself, and MIT frats are known for parties. ;]

At my school, it’s the opposite (at least for senior year, lol). No one cares about what’s going on in class anymore, as opposed to the kids on the regular track who right now are focusing on maintaining a B+ or better so as to be exempted from finals.

All we’ve got left are our AP exams. We’re done with school.

YES! I love my regular class of US history, oh and Spanish 4, but that doesn’t count as a “smart class” b/c everyone takes it. Oh boy I live for Spanish 4!

People in regular classes may take school as seriously (why they might be more fun), but sometimes the questions some kids ask are ridiculously not smart. Like US History for freshman is only regular (no honors), and sometimes I want to bang my head in the wall… it’s like the teacher explained it 3 times, and the question didn’t even make sense (not even logically)! The teacher kinda just stares at the person if they ask a stupid question, doesn’t answer, and moves on.

^ Same, all we have left are reviews, and honestly no one even pays any attention. Not to mention a backpack full of binder filled with notes make great pillows.

AP Chem…
Have three “clowns”.
Have a girl that doesn’t get any innuendos (even though there are plenty)
Has intresting accented people (from britian, Africa, Egypt)

AP Calc…
Funny teacher w/ jokes that make you laugh not b/c they are funny or too corny, but b/c they don’t make any sense and he is soooo enthusiastic.

Latin III HP
Funny British teacher who lived in South Africa, mom built a boat in the house, was offered a hand in marriage for ten camels, and will go off on a funny rant if you talk about the Shakespeare conspiracies.

On the other hand my non-HP/AP teacher/classes: nothing

therefore for me AP/HP teachers win

next year I get a Japanese rapping AP Econ. Teacher who was rejected from a job at the community college for being too smart and taught at a university in japan…

For real! I have a regular class - Ceramics I, which is particularly known as the biggest slack class in the school - love the people in there and the teacher. All are awesome

Haha I completely agree. It’s nice to have a variety of personalties interacting. It’s what makes classes funn.

But at higher level classes, it just becomes a lot of smart people competing against each other, which gets rather annoying. Because their base personalities are the same, essentially.

Lol, the teacher that teaches my Pre-calc class also teaches AP-Calc and AP-computer science and he treats the class like idiots; the other day he spent the first 10 minutes of class calling his 4 year old son and talking to him on speakerphone, then the next 10 minutes showing us the sign language videos he shows his son…

RedUnicorn, the defense you put up makes you sound really lame. also, you keep saying “us” and “we” when referring to people in AP classes and are trying to make yourself sound better… lol

“Party with dead pig fetus, poke fun of your A.P Lit teacher because its Shakespeare Day”

yep, youre idea of fun is definitely different than mine. if you think thats fun then thats awesome. i still think regular classes are much more fun compared to the stuck up kids in some of my ap classes.
