After reading around, I seem to be one of many "overqualified and deferred due to questionable interest" students. I am now eagerly awaiting my RD admissions decision after taking various steps to demonstrate my interest. I feel very confident I have made a positive impression on my local admissions counselor in our correspondences after receiving my deferral, in addition to submitting both the DHS and PTA.

I was searching through past Tulane threads in hopes of finding information specific to the RD decision release schedule, but it appears as though the majority of the information is about EA or SCEA decision timetables. The deferral message on Gibson is somewhat ambiguous and seems to imply a process similar to the EA pseudo-rolling admissions: "We will try to get you a decision as quickly as possible, but you will receive a final decision by April 1."

Especially given these types of circumstances (very high stats, good new relationship with the counselor, and especially with the DHS/PTA applications having notification deadlines well before April 1), what exactly has this message meant in the past? Is it unheard of to expect a decision towards the end of January/beginning of February?

Thank you!
