Regular decision applicants 2011

kgkendall:

Im from a suburb of the Twin Cities, and there are a bunch of really great stores there, and its only about a 40 minute drive. I would recommend stocking up on your patagonia and marmot apparel before heading up to Northfield (where the shopping opps are slim!)

Thanks for all the info about the cold! Hearing all of this has made me realize that I really could handle it, which will make my decision a lot easier! I was looking at a similar school (Davidson), which is in a warmer place, but I’m starting to like Carleton more. :)

We visited the last week in April, and the weather was picture-perfect. Sunny and a high in the 60s, I think. I was walking around in jeans and a little fleece jacket, and the girls were sunning in the Bald Spot in shorts and spaghetti straps. It’s all a matter of perspective. ;)

Got my letter today (I live in Michigan). Denied though…
Good luck to everyone who’s waiting and congrats to all of the new Carls!

kgkendall, my son graduated from Carleton last summer, and we’re from Tennessee. He loved his time as a Carl and was fine with Minnesota weather. He’s now in Boston and said that boots are more necessary there because it tends to be a more wet snow. He never bother with them in Northfield.

Like you, we don’t have good cold-weather stores here. I bought a lot of stuff from L.L. Bean. Good luck with your decision!

Good news envelope :)…we’re in CA

Acccepted! Waitlisted today at two other colleges, but Carleton always seemed the best fit anyway.

Rejected, got my letter today in the L.A. suburbs. I wasn’t really surprised, and I’ve gotten into some other places I like, but the words, “we are sorry to inform you” never really get easier to read.

Accepted! I’m so happy right now since Carleton has been pretty much my top choice.

If you haven’t heard by mail yet, check your email. I got my acceptance yesterday by mail, but they just sent an email about application status change, and I viewed my decision again online.

I’m TN too-- where are you? Just accepted!! What did you son major in!

We are in Colorado. My son was wait-listed. Good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard yet.

Totally surprised! S was deferred for ED but accepted regular decision! We were stunned!

Wahoooo! Accepted!

@Adversa: Really?? thanks nyways. I have not yet received any acceptance letter.(Rejected by 8 because of large financial aid I asked for). Did you get any? good luck to you as well.!!

I am an international student. And I have neither received any e-mail or mail. Guys is it really true that you got your decisions?
Agitated…

Yeah, most of us already received our decisions, hangover2012. Yours might arrive in a few days; don’t lose hope!

There is still nothing update in my portal. Really anxious. Did they just send the acceptance/waiting emails to international students this morning ? I email them. no reply. I really want to call them tonight.

@Tristesee: where are you from? I haven’t got anything in my portal too… what is happenning? I have not got any acceptances so far because of huge financial aid I asked for. I can’t really sleep. These college decisions are really getting on my nerves…
and thanks!

If you’re an international student and you do not receive any email to check your portal, does that mean that you’re rejected? :(
