Modadunn: Yes I am quite thankful my family decided to reside in France. I really can't picture learning the language of Moliere in a classroom. I do however miss my Italian home country!

It's funny because I too am the HS senior in the family. I also notice a failure of communication with my father. We have a hard time connecting and discussions are usually brief and without substance. This does not however mean that I do not love my father. I am very thankful for his efforts and everything he's done for me. I'm sure your son feels the same.
Thank you, I am actually quite excited about USC. I love the city and I love the school. Also, living in such a cosmopolitan city as an international would make more sense than living in Hamilton for the next four years of my life.
I also applied to Georgetown! After what I read on CC, internationals will receive an email in the following days. So fingers crossed there too. In any case, best of luck to you and your son.

Mytra: Thank you. I was lucky enough to have come from a family where money is not that much of an issue so I did not need to apply for financial aid. But I hear that USC is quite generous and truly does its best to not make money a barrier to education.

i feel the future is opening up for you dude... iam international living in US and i lvoe USC... love it so damn much.. but i didnt apply cuz it's not very generous to internationals... especially with the economic downturn.. i feel so happy for you man

jenjen: they mailed them out today (march 25th). i'm in new jersey, so i will probably get mine on friday, but you may get it earlier if you live in NY or later if you live further away (obviously.)

i am sooooo nervous to get my decision. though colgate isnt the the "best" school i applied to (i also applied to gtown, dartmouth, and princeton), i really would like to attend colgate. but i did just get waitlisted at bucknell....makes me nervous, because colgate is even more selective....i'm incredibly nervous to get my decision letter.

thevet91- I also got waitlisted at Bucknell and I'm waiting to hear from brown, gtown, duke, and boston college... I'm scared!! I really wanna get into colgate as well and it's always been a top choice of mine.

Oh God...I do live in NY but I live in Queens not upstate so I might not get it tomorrow..though it would be amazing to just get it over with (I am definitely getting rejected)...good luck to all though!

I also expect to be rejected. My only hope is that since I'm not applying for any financial aid they just may want me for my parent's money and not my SAT scores.

^ another reason why I wish I had money sigh ..and another reason why I should get into Colgate ..so my amazing education can lead to an amazing job which will lead to an amazing salary...then I will just donate oodles of money and get my kids accepted ;)

I'm an alum living in Queens and I just received a letter from Colgate today (25th) that was postmarked on the 23rd in Utica. So it'll probably be 2-3 days for New Yorkers, depending on weather. You're lucky living relatively close - I'm from Seattle and it usually took a full week for me to get anything from Hamilton, NY!

Everyone who's accepted (in the US at least) will be invited to an accepted student event in your local area - please go! It's a great way to talk to current students and alums and get a non-admissions-office perspective, especially if you haven't had a chance to before. The NY event is scheduled for the 1st, so I'm sure you'll hear very soon...

OK, I received my letter - rejected.
It's postmarked March, 20th.
Good luck to you guys who didn't yet receive the letter, and congrats to those of you who have been accepted! :)

Aww.. I am so sorry Flid and Blanche2negru. And as hollow as it sounds, a year from now the odds are you are going to find yourself extremely happy wherever you land!

OK..

I've started the official thread and so, going forward, let's use that. And while it's not fun to put forth all your stats when rejected, it really is helpful for those kids looking at it for future reference.

If you're in New Jersey then it should most likely arrive tomorrow or the next day.. I'm in Brooklyn and I'm hoping for tomorrow! I mean, if they were mailed out on Wednesday from upstate it can't take that long..

K. let me get this straightened out. I am from the Caribbean and applied to colgate........

When can i expect something in the mail? I checked my mail box today and got nothing from colgate.

Can someone give me a time frame here since they dont email international students?

*PS... I received some booklet from colgate the first week of march and the post date was the first week of february? Am I suppose to look for their mail in one month??????
