Regular Decision vs Early Action?

Right now I am deciding whether or not I want to EA to Umich and Indiana. What is the difference besides the date at which I receive my rejection/defferal/acceptance. Will going EA prevent the college from seeing my senior year semester 1 grades? Just some insight on the difference and advantages of each would be much appreciated. Thank you.

One of the best reasons to delay EA application in favor of RD is that the schools get to use your 7th semester grades to help (hopefully) boost your GPA.

That being said, the requirements for a realistic UM applicant are MUCH higher than an IU applicant. If you’re anywhere close to being a realistic UM applicant, I can assure you that you can apply to IU early, without your 7th semester grades. Your 33 ACT makes you a slam dunk for IU Early application.
