Regular decsion letter

Hi…It seems like there was a lot of activity on decision letters about two weeks ago - and now there has been nothing. Has anyone heard anything in the last two weeks? Have all the students who were awarded the Marquis Scholarship accepted and decided to attend…or are some of you waiting to hear from other schools as well?

I am an interantional student and I received my offer today through email!

@valuntina: I am from China too~

@OfferMe Congrats!!! Really hope you decide to come to Lafayette! If you have any questions about academics, activities, visa application process etc. please, please don’t hesitate to post in the accepted students thread or PM me! :)

Hey guys!

I’m happy to say that I received an offer of admission today by email. I’m from Brazil btw :-)

Congrats to those who have already been accepted and good luck to those who still await for their letters/emails!

@gracio
I was awarded the Marquis scholarship, but Im still waiting to hear from 4 other schools(including ivies) so Im sure others are in the same situation… they said only a fraction of the scholarships offered are actually accepted, so I wouldn’t worry about that filling up the class or anything

@Offerme, I still didn’t hear about anything Lafayette and I thought maybe I was rejected cause I sent lots of email and got not even a single reply. And congrats for your admission to Lafayette. How much are you sure to go there?

@valuntina:Do not panic. Since each offer letter is personalized, maybe you’ll just have to wait for the right moment to come. Well, to be honest, I am not sure whether I will end up in Lafa or not because I am also waiting for the results from other colleges right now; nevertheless, it’s definitely one of my top choices.

btw I have PM you my RenRen, plz add me if you also have RenRen account.

It doesn’t seem that domestic decision letters for RD have gone out yet. Otherwise, CC would have a very lively thread discussion acceptances and rejections.

That is, except for Marquis scholarshop winners.

Please correct me if I am incorrect.

MADad: I think you are correct that only Marquis Scholars and International Students have offer letters at this point. On a different CC post last night, I read that the expected date for Lafayette to mail out answers is March 26th. But, it sure would be nice to know something this weekend, wouldn’t it?

Has your S or D applied for this fall?

Gracieo

Kind of resent international students getting such big scholarships when many high achieving but middle class U.S. citizens will have to forgo a great school for $$ reasons

gracieo–

S applied for next fall–has heard from all of his schools except Lafayette. If he gets in and the fin aid offer is reasonable, would like to know so we can plan an accepted student visit April school vacation in 3 weeks.

MADad: Where else did your S apply? My S has been accepted to two other schools - Still waiting to hear from Lafayette and Trinity. He was accepted to New College - Honors College of Florida and University of Colorado at Boulder. Gracieo

gracie0–

accepted: UMass-Amherst, WPI, RIT, RPI (thought that would be his reach, but he got in!)

waitlisted: Lehigh, URochester (sister recent grad, thought that would be his best fit)

still waiting on: Lafayette

MADad: Sounds like your S has some great choices, no matter what Lafayette decides.

It also looks like your S is interested in Engineering, as is mine.

Checked the mail today - still no word. Gracieo

Still waiting…last year it seemed people on the east coast got their letter on 3/28 so probably some time around there.

Still no word here in Colorado either…the waiting is really killing us. Me more than my son. He’s pretty relaxed…I don’t have any idea where he gets that from - certainly not me! Gracieo

I found a web site that listed dates of decisions which were extremely accurate. For what it is worth, it stated that Lafayette would send out decisions letter on Monday March 26th in snail mail.

I got in, and I’ll only have to be paying about $9,000/year.

@Samonuh, did it come in a small white envelope?

@Samonuh, also what were you stats, if you don’t mind sharing!
