Do you think it would kill me if I took regular English and French junior year? To answer you probably should know my schedule:

Junior year:
Multi. Variable Calc (was gonna take BC but already took AB and they just randomly changed it so I guess this is it)
AP Bio
AP Chem
Physics honors (or AP B idk)
English 11 (honors or regular.... either way no AP til 12)
French 4 (same deal ^)
AP Euro
AP Stats (if it fits but unlikely)

Senior year:
AP Physics C: both
College math idk what course exactly the school usually decides
French AP
English (really don't want to take AP but...)
AP Economics: both
AP Gov
Other college classes probs
I take other electives but they're unique to my school so I'm not gonna add them.

I clearly like science. So how detrimental do you think it would be to top college admissions to not take advanced French (junior year) and English (both years)? I would ask people in my school but most of them blindly go with all honors and AP and few take regular classes.... so this is why I'm worried.

When I took regular English junior year (out of concern with workload), I actually got a lot more work. Regular classes are filled to the brim busywork.

Just tough it out. It looks bad and inconsistent, like you’ve decided to become lazy just because you’re a senior. You’ll probably be bored in regular classes, seeing as you’re already an active AP student

I know what you mean. AP Lit at our school is insanely difficult and a lot of work, and we have to read 2 600-page books and write two essays for our summer assignment, so I’m already questioning my decision. But I think it’ll look a lot better for you to take the AP class.

EDIT: just realized you are a junior, LOL. All the more reason to take AP. Junior year grades are insanely important.

Take AP English. You get less work and in the end you do nothing but practice tests (at least in my class).

At my high school, I got less (and easier) work taking normal English.

Dude take it…haha it would look inconsistent honestly, i’d take it if I were you.

And there’s a thing with regular classes, some of them are… yah not people you want to talk to. Trust me, I took like regular US history, not fun because I was filled with people who were the type of people that were " I don’t care about school blah blah" it annoyed me

Take AP english, it would benefit you, and maybe you’d learn more about the techniques, and become a better writer. Plus if you get a 5 on the ap exam, you get to advance in English in college. Not unless you self-study for it that is…

Colleges like consistency, and they will be wondering why you took a regular instead you know~
