Any opinions on room selection in Reid Hall? The end rooms are larger but don’t appear to have full windows. Is it better to be on a high floor or low floor due to elevator waiting time? Any advice would be helpful.

(Shop and swap time, eh?)
Horsesrus,
The extra size of the end rooms is certainly nice (they are much more spacious and as a result normally are in high demand), but the view isn’t as good due to the brick lattice work/screening over the end of the building. Windows are the same size, from what I recall. The floorplan’s depiction of that isn’t quite accurate. Elevator wait time is just one of those things you may have to deal with if you live on a top floor. I lived in Yocum back in the day, and the wait was never that bad to get up to my room (I lived on the 8th floor), and in the mornings I just went down the stairs to help wake myself up, though there was rarely a wait for the elevator in the early mornings. The location of Reid makes the view fantastic from the south side of the building, and the top floors of the north side aren’t bad either. If the higher floors of the south or the top floors or the north side aren’t available, the view isn’t going to be that much better than the low floors.

I hope that helps.
Good luck selecting a room!

Thanks for your reply, Matt. I sent it to my daughter to share with her future roommate and they found it very interesting. My daughter is in the Greek Life TLC at Reid so she has a pretty early Shop n Swap date so they should be able to get a room to their liking.

I appreciate all your responses on this board and hope it gets more busy with other information going forward.
