<p>^^ Exactly, you never know. Let me just say that when I got the UCLA email stating I had been accepted through appeal, I sprinted out of my room in my boxers (it was 8:00 AM), found my Mom, and told her immediately. </p>

<p>@ UCLAhopee: Just ask them why you were rejected. Be super polite. State that you completed all prereqs with a competitive GPA and that you don’t understand why you weren’t admitted.</p>

<p>@emilsinclair, is the deal with prerequisites that they be completed before you apply/by the transfer update, and not by the spring semester? i’m finishing my prerequisites this semester and i’m wondering if that would be a valid reason to appeal.</p>

<p>310 825 3101 1-4pm. I didn’t even have to wait on hold. I missed 1 pre-req and they told me that is exactly why I was rejected, despite the 4.0 and regents scholarship etc. Have your UC application # handy.</p>

<p>@cherryvaseline One of my bosses at a former internship was on UCLA’s Board of Admissions. The schools receive admission decisions from the other schools, and some will choose to reject people who they think will more likely go to the more prestigious school in order to allocate acceptances to other people. It’s how you end up with things like people getting into UCLA but getting rejected from UCSB or Irvine.</p>

<p>About every 30 seconds there’s a recorded voice that says, “Thank you for waiting. All of our agents are still busy, please continue to hold.”</p>
