Rejected from Cal

:( what a bummer man... no la and no cal

around 3.7 rejected from the econ major

3.6-7 psych major rejected from CAL! WOOT!

Rejected 3.6 Econ major... missing second semester of Calculus too, so the rejection comes as no surprise.
Looks like I'm heading to Davis.

Get in with 3.92 - econ major

but i really wont go there...still waiting for ucla...

hey i knew i didn't get in a long time ago when i didn't get the haas supplemental app.

=) it was expected so finding out today didn't change my mood one bit lol

but hey... us rejects have something to aspire to.... uc berkeley for graduate school!!

3.55 poli sci, good ECs, good essays, honors, work experience... depressed, but not shocked- it's pretty competitive.

the inevetible rejection...not surprised but three rejections that's kinda harsh...3.92 gpa but missing a lot of pre-reqs because I don't goto a cali community college

I got rejected too, not surprisingly. Oh wells, it was pretty obvious I was going to be rejected, so I'm not too bummed.

rejected from cal.
An international student staying in NY with 4.0 GPA.
Biochem and molecular biology major.

I have not finished any physics courses and was not able to fill any other requirements on MyBerkeleyApplication. I think that's the reason.
Still wating for UCLA (MCD biology)
At least I got accepted to Ga Tech (BME) and UCD( Molecular bio).

I really hope to hear good news from UCLA.

it's interesting to see that there's no berkeley bashing (as of yet) like there was la bashing in the other thread. :)

Rejected... Oh well

I think cuz everyone understands how difficult getting into berkeley is...LA is the second best UC but nationally the schools aren't that close...

Masta, where does it say that nationally the schools aren't that close? Don't talk to me about ratings.....they're not accurate. Terribly biased, of course, as we all know.....

but where is that contention held?

Masta, based on my experiences out-of-state, UCLA isn't considered that far behind with younger people. With older people on the East Coast you might as well take a cyanide pill if you go to any school in California, because you're certifiably retarded.

UCLA, exactly.....and then to top it off, if you don't go to a private LAC then you're even more of an idiot for going to a....."ick" public university. lol When does that garbage just stop......I tell you what. when I was an admin. asst. for many years, I would go to the temp agencies and grads from Berkeley and Harvard and other prestigious universities were having a hard time getting a job right after school.....so, I wouldn't place too much emphasis on inferior and sub-par schools such as our poor California institutions. lol

Conan O'Brien (Harvard grad) worked at Wilson's House of Suede and Leather for a while. Granted, he was getting into a very hard to break into field.

I didn't claim that it actually was a much better school, but are you going to contest the fact that Harvard is largely regarded as the best college, and claim that those ratings are biased. I don't know how the ratings work, and i think LA and Berk aren't ranked too far apart, but Berk is considered by a lot of people to be one of the best schools in the country. maybe that's a norcal bias, because thats where I grew up but even on the East coast people know of Berkeley as being a really great school. Its Engineering program is second to MIT and stanford, and that's saying a lot.

Add me in to...

(Copy and paste from other thread)

Rejected - UC BERKELEY

MAJOR EECS - less than 14% acceptance rate.
GPA - 3.91
Major GPA - 4.0
All prereq classes - All math, all physics, all CS, 3 qtrs of English, few GEs. With tons of extra CS classes.

No worries. Only UCB has the right to reject me. After all, EECS is tied #1 with MIT and Stanford

Hehe its kinda funny UCB has the right to reject people but UCLA doesn't? :)

masta,

Even UCLA is known as a great school on the East Coast. Either that or everyone is lying to me.
