What school at Cornell? You’d have your best shot at a land grant school.

Hopefully you have some good match and safety schools. While you never know, your ED results often tell you a lot about how you’ll do at schools with similar acceptance rates,

i want to major in economics so i was thinking of applying to the school of arts and sciences. i don’t believe this is a land grant school, however.

what do you think my chances are at the school of arts and sciences? how much higher would they be if i applied to, say, the school of agriculture and life sciences?

It’s hard to say without class rank. Your school probably oes into more detail and gives colleges grade distribution info. If you’re very top of class A&S may be a possibility. Agriculture would be much easier.

Revisit your essays if you’re using what you used at Penn. Your stats won’t keep you out, now you need to give them a reason to let you in.

Just wondering, why would the school of Agriculture and Life Sciences be easier? and do you think i should still apply there if i want to major in economics?

It’s easier because it’s one of their land grant schools, part of the NY state school system, and does not have the same admissions standards A& S. If you want to major in econ apply to A & S.

ECs aren’t that strong…probably why you got rejected from Penn.

got rejected from penn too
i think the numbers are good for cornell i think right now its how good ur essays and recs are since ur ec’s are just about average
but despite what cornell people say cornell is the easier than UPENN
last year had only one person get in from our school and everyone else that got rejected applied to cornell and got in, 12 people from one school
so have hope…chance me back please

No, Cornell A & S is not easier than Cornell. And ED at Penn is probably the biggest boost in the ivy league.

I disagree, I think at least statistically speaking the percentage of accepted ED applicants at Cornell is higher than at Penn

Cornell and Penn each have several schools, each with it’s own admissions standards. Here you want to compare Cornell A & S to Penn A & S for an accurate picture.
