Rejected?!?!?!

IIRC all UCs have seen an increase in applications.

As I'm aware of it, UCD has been cutting its admissions in years prior, and from what I can see, they've done so to a greater extent this year.

All UC's are going through budget cuts, which means it'll be harder to get into your first choice. But Davis has been cutting admissions even before those budget cuts took place, and combined with the influx of applicants...
Well, we have what we see here.

I'm sure that other UC's are recieveing increases in admissions also, but whether or not they're cutting admissions as significantly as Davis is a question I can't answer. From what I can tell, UCI hasn't cut much, my friend got in with somewhat low stats, and there are quite a few examples I see of the same thing happening with other students with lower stats.

ic ic. Thank you. Another question... If i didn't get accepted to UCI... is it bad news?

i don't know did you want to go to UCI :D sorry I can't help myself

I've said this before but I know people (people not 'a guy' or 'a girl' plural people) that get rejected from UCR but get into UCI, rejected from UCI but into UCLA etc.

...a 1270 is like 400 on each section. i can't imagine that

hahaha okok thanx. I wish everyone the best luck.

I feel for you all, it's the same deal here for me. =/
I have almost the exact stats as you deepfriedeggroll.
I have a feeling it's because I applied for competitive majors, because many people who have lower stats seemed to have been accepted through undeclared.

If that's the case, I wish I applied under that =/

yeah... me too I think that was the problem! I applied to Bio med, stupid me >:(

uc davis doesn't consider your major in terms of admissions when you apply

hmmm maybe... you never know them haha
i dont trust them anymore >:(

What the-? I got rejected too.

Oh well. Congratulations to the people who got in. I hope this isn't a bad omen for the rest of the decisions to come. o.o

yeah... this is so weird. Guess we are on he same boat Debbie. haha

College is a determining factor in the admissions process and since each major is only in one college I guess you can say the majors do play a role. For example, every applicant that applied to a major in the College of Biological science, including Undeclared - Life science, were competing against each other. To be admitted each applicant in the College of Biological Science would need to meet the same selection criteria.

NOOOOOO i did not know that! >.<

I guess we now know why outstanding students need to apply to many schools. Hard work, great grades, top test scores ec's galore and still, no guarantee.

"College is a determining factor in the admissions process and since each major is only in one college I guess you can say the majors do play a role."

I must say that was one little nugget of information ( Make your second choice in a different school ) picked up at "HS Scholars Day" that seemed really important to know.

I shouldnt have chosen Bio Med... so many smart people applies to those majors!

tp, was that bioengineering?

and in general, what are some of the majors at UCD that can actually have an impact on ur admissions? r any of them in the college of biological sciences?
