I’ve read some posts where candidates got rejected last year, but they went to civ college, joined ROTC and got accepted early in October because the AFA loves 2nd year candidates. My question is do you have to go through the entire application process all over again? Nominations?

Yes you do

"...Been there, done that..."

You go through ALL of it again. The GOOD part is that you know what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. Give's you a "leg up" on the competition.

BAD part...well...you didn't get in the first time!

Still...in the end...it's worth it!

ALWAYS as a freshman. It doesn't matter what you have done before you come here, they want you to have the full four year expirence.

that doesn't matter. if you make it into USAFA and intend to graduate, you enter as a freshman...no if's and's or but's. this is probably because nothing can replace freshman year here.

ALWAYS. There is a reason I put it in capital letters.

I am at the Prep school right now, I have over three years of college and four years of military expirence, and next year I will be a 4 dig. That is just how it works, the fourth class year is an integral part of the leadership training that the SAs offer.

the age limit on entering the academy is 23 years old...so graduating at 30 is impossible.

and you are not necessarily better off doing ROTC then waiting another year to graduate from USAFA. but i guess that depends what your goals...

there's many here who have chosen to take the same path as blue suiter.... no he won't be 30.

Fortester is a troll. He posted under a similar name, just changed the number.

I just want it stated on record that I am proud of coming to the Academy late. There I things I have done, places I have been, and things I have seen that I would not have wanted to trade. Plus when I graduate (hopefully) I will pay less in insurance, get paid a little better (O-1E is amazing!), and maybe even qualify for the senior citizen discount at Taco Bell. ;-)

I am sure you will...
