Either Texas, Tulane, or George Washington. I haven't made a final decision yet. I'm going to school on an NROTC scholarship, so I have to transfer my scholarship to Texas or GW or go to Tulane. I'm also waiting to hear from West Point.

I was told anytime from now up until 24 hours before reception day on June 28th. My medical clearance should be going through soon, so once that's taken care of I expect a reply. So, obviously i'm making other plans to fall back on, but WP is my dream and I'm really hoping for an appointment.

I think I'm considering UNT. Does anyone have any thoughts on Denton and UNT? I think I will go for a year and transfer to my dream school (William & Mary).

well Denton is horrible...but its close to the Dallas area, so its not too bad....UNT is a decent school, its not amazing but better than a lot of other schools.....the biggest downside to UNT is that it is a commuter school (just like most public universities in the dallas metroplex)

I like Denton - it's quiet, unique and pretty in its own way. Dallas is only 45 mins down the highway. Plenty of students live on campus (I dated one!)

So which university would be better- UTD or UNT? I plan to transfer out-of-state only after a year. I'm leaning towards more UNT. What do you think? Have you had friends go to ethier university? How are the dorms? food? etc. Would I need a car?

Thank you. Private message if you would like.

My daughter applied to 3 schools: UT, American U. in Washington, DC, and Trinity in San Antonio.

She was capped at UT, accepted at American with no merit money, and accepted at Trinity with decent financial aid. She has decided on Trinity. It's a great small LAC with a national reputation. She really wanted to be a Longhorn because her sister and brother graduated from there, but with the damn 10% rule, she didn't make it. But, we think Trinity is her best choice after all (American would have been great but not at $45K/year.

don't mean to be a jerk, but i'm not sure how much of a national reputation trinity has. Some of my friends go there, so I know it's a great school though.

Aceestrin - you aren't a jerk, just uninformed. Here is why I said Trinity has a national reputation (among educators and those who study these things):

Ranked the number one university in the West (offering only bachelor and master degrees) by US News and World Report.

Rated 3rd in the US for individual attention from faculty - by Kaplan/Newsweek College Catalog

Named a "Best Buy" among private colleges by Fiske Guide; a top-30 value among private colleges by Kiplinger's Personal Finance, and one of the "Top 10 Best Buys" by Money magazine.

Plus, anedotally, one of our family friends works for Price, Waterhouse, and Coopers and she says they hire more Trinity students as summer interns than from either UT or A&M because they find them "better prepared' for their jobs.

Trinity may not be well known by the general public, but it does have a excellent reputation among those "in the know". At least I sure hope so. I'm going to be sending a lot of my money there the next four years
:)

I'm living in Canada right now but I am originally from Texas. Both my parents are UT alum and they're pushing for me to do the CAP program. I'm been accepted to the University of Georgia, University of Florida, A few Canadian schools and I was waitlisted at Wake Forest. I'm really torn about what to do because I've gotten into some good schools (for my standards) but I'm flying down to Texas to visit the CAP schools so maybe that might change my sway me. Overall I think I'll end up doing CAP because it's cheaper and more importantly, my parents would be happy. I think if I turned down my chance at UT I'd always wonder "what if".
