Was anyone else’s rejection letter from BC extremely apologetic? I mean no rejection letter is nice, but it seemed like they spent a lot of time writing the rejection. I’ve heard it’s normal to get a letter stating that “you have honored us with your interest in Boston College.”

Also–just out of curiosity…how many people were accepted to Villanova, but denied to Boston College?

My S was denied by BS (EA) but accepted at Nova. The only thing I can figure is he did not have enough volunteer work for BC. His stats are BC quality. Its very strange.

It looks like he will go to Loyola, Md as they offered merit and they are so welcoming and have kept in touch with him since he was accepted. They are even doing a dinner for parents/students on their accepted students day for the merit aid students

Loyola is not as highly rated as Nova but I do think some day it will be very close.

Very strange I got into BC(RD) but got waitlisted at NorthEastern. I have no idea how it’s possible. I mean you can’t comapre BC with NEU, that’s how good BC is.

Sorry! lol Villanova is a fine school, but comparing BC to Villanova is like comparing apples to oranges. Who outside of Philadelphia, would have heard of Villanova, were it not for basketball.

hello5, you are obviously a BC person. BC is actually a very similar school to villanova. Both catholic schools with similar enrollment, similar admissions standards. I do think BC gets a lot of applications because people like the Boston area. I applied to the typical catholic colleges: BC, Gtown, Notre Dame, Nova plus a few others (GW and Carnegie Mellon and Princeton). I was accepter to all but Notre Dame and Princeton. I chose georgetown mostly for the city and because of its academic reputation. I did, however, do a lot of research into Nova and BC and they were very similar universities.
