Listen to the Mom's. They know what they're talking about.

yes. i know. many many people know what they're talking about.

but it's non-sensical now. (wow. think i just made up a word.) it's over and now i can only pick some other college. maybe try again next year.

You mentioned calling the schools to find out scores, evaluation etc., Is this an acceptable practice? My D and I were talking about how beneficial it would be to have some feedback but we thought that was not allowed at most of the schools. It really would be great to know what things she should work on or hopefully where she scored high.

NanE,

It depends on the school. I figure it can't hurt to ask because if you've already been rejected what can you lose if you are nice about it. We were able to interact with some of the directors more than others by visiting the school etc. We made contact with one director and she was really wonderful. She told me that my D had done really well but there we just many of her "type" already at the school. She spent a good twenty minutes talking to me and telling me what the adjudicators had to say. I know that at PSU, the director told the group that he does not do this, but as far as I'm concerned as long as they did not make it clear, as he did, it can't hurt.
I wish you luck, and remember that those who seek will find!

You might check the school website. I seem to remember that some specifically said that no feedback would be given. Of course, as you noted, at this point you really don't have anything to lose by asking.

But what if everyone did? Just bear in mind that from the perspective of the schools they really don't want to get into the position of critiquing, or even having to field a phone call about critiquing every student they declined to offer a slot to. Best bet might be to limit the calls to those schools and individuals that you felt you DID build some sort of personal relaitonship with and approach it form that direction.

Our s. was rejected at Webster. Felt the vibe immediately. He knew he was in lousy voice that day at Unifieds and also had an odd prejudice against such a wonderful school, too. CRAZY. So that's two rejections, one wait-list, seven acceptances .... and no decision!

waitinggg for the 5 schools :-(

This waiting would be so much easier, if i knew for sure that i had been accepted somewhere already...but right now its unbearable....

Now THAT hurts.

kaylagurl...what 5 schools are u still waiting on?

kayla,
I know these last few days of waiting are the toughest. Take care, stay busy, think positively. Dealing with the present is never as hard as the anticipation.

thanks :)

umm..im waiting on elon, montclair, bladwin-wallace, ithaca and hartt..they told me i would hear from them by april 10th/15th

Hang in there, Kayla. Only a little while longer.

kaylagurl,
wow, another week, I'm really hoping the best for you! I'm still waiting on syracuse, seems crazy as so many others have already heard. They told me I should hear this week or next. But like you the waiting is a killer!!

my boyfriend is still waiting on Hartt. His very last one. He got accepted to Plymouth State, but he has no's from his other schools. Ironically, Hartt is the only one that I have gotten into so far. Ironic and cruel, isn't it? :)

Didn't get into any of the BFA programs, but I'm not all bent out of shape about it! In my opinion everything happens for a reason. I'm just glad that I won't be in thousands of dollars worth of debt. I can pay for my years at WCU without having to take out any loans, which is wonderful!

We're all praying for you.

Well, I think I made my decision. Even though they all rejected me from their Musical Theatre programs, Fredonia reccommended me for their B.A. Theatre program... and then in November I can re-audition for the musical theatre program for the spring semester. I think its my best choice.

Rejections are hard... but you come to terms with them eventually. Go out for a night without thinking about college (thats what I did last night). Never give up (I know I never will)! Broadway... here I come.

Rejected by the University of Florida

What an attitude!!!! Your kids continue to show us adults what you're made of. All of you
God Bless You

Tolandowski,
Do you know that this is a rejection thread for Musical Theatre students? Aren't you interested in pre-med?
