My father in law is a retired cop from a large metropolitan area. He always says there was a significant number of times he saw grown/tough men lose control of body functions the first time they faced live fire. I think its incredibly tough to train for that. Particularly in suburban areas. My guess is that the number of police on the force in my suburb or surrounding suburbs who have faced live fire or even fired their weapon outside of a range is very small. Makes it tough to know what will happen and to follow procedures when that live fire event happens.
